Supporting diversity, fairness and inclusion

More than just words, diversity, fairness and inclusion are among our key values. They guide our actions and activities. Whatever the origin or background of our employees, we respect their identity and treat them as equals. We want them to be able to give of their best at work, and we do everything we can to facilitate this.

On a daily basis, we combat all forms of discrimination, whether on the grounds of gender, sexual orientation, skin color, religion or age. To this end, we are stepping up our efforts and initiatives, both within Sodexo and in the local communities in which we operate.

For us, a culture of diversity, fairness and inclusion is as much a moral imperative as an essential condition for innovation and performance. As a leading player, we want to turn these key values into a real driver for societal change.

We are also aware that this is a long-term battle that demands ongoing in-depth reflection. Our commitment to continuous improvement is reflected in our key commitments and our Better Tomorrow 2025 roadmap.

Here is how we are taking concrete action against prejudice.

Since 2019, the SheLeads and SheWorks programs have also been implemented:

SheLeads

  • SheLeads aims to empower women and give them the tools they need to develop their careers at Sodexo. This programme creates connections and gives access to a network of experienced leaders who provide advice and feedback to help women develop their skills and enhance their careers.

SheWorks

  • SheWorks aims to develop women’s potential and employability, while at the same time opening career opportunities. The programme connects women, particularly those in vulnerable situations, with Sodexo employees who can provide them with support and advice. The aim? To help these women to gain self-confidence and pursue their professional development.

We firmly believe that disability should never be a barrier to professional development. On the contrary, as a responsible and forward-thinking employer, we are committed to creating an inclusive working environment in which everyone can achieve their full potential, whatever their differences.

Often invisible, mental disorders are the leading cause of disability worldwide. Yet prejudice persists and all too often still hinders access to employment and career development for those concerned. We are fighting against this persistent discrimination...

This is why equal opportunities and the promotion and inclusion of persons with disabilities are at the heart of our HR policy. As well as adapting and modifying workstations, we also run awareness-raising campaigns to change people’s attitudes.

Our ambition? To create an inclusive culture in which mental health can be discussed without taboos and where difference is celebrated as an asset.

More than an ethical duty, the inclusion of people with disabilities is also a powerful driver of performance, creativity and commitment for our teams. It is a win-win investment in the service of an ever more human and successful company.

Our aim? To provide an inclusive working environment for Sodexo teams. Our responsible growth strategy has always been based on the promotion of an inclusive and diverse culture. Our working environments are aligned with this daily commitment, to offer our employees the opportunity to be themselves, whatever their gender, sexual orientation, age, disability, culture or religion.

Our networks play a key role in supporting our efforts. For example, we encourage our employees to join one of our 18 LGBTQ+ and Allies networks, which provide a forum for exchange and support to promote inclusion.

We also value each stage of life, supporting all generations on their path towards professional fulfilment. Our five generational networks help us to deploy the innovative spirit of our young talent, as well as the experience of our long-serving employees.

Sodexo has been leading an independent Age and intergenerational management working group since 2022. The aim? To promote the sharing of knowledge and experience between companies in Luxembourg

Our commitment also extends beyond the boundaries of our organisation. Our aim? To develop diversity and inclusion within communities. Through our partnerships with a wide range of local businesses, we aim to open up new horizons, change mindsets and ensure that we continue to have a positive impact on our communities, particularly on behalf of minorities, women, people with disabilities and the LGBT community.

Sodexo Luxembourg has been a partner of IMS (Inspiring More Sustainability) for many years.
